We bring your playground safety program FULL CIRCLE!

  • How do we get started?
  • Why should we use Playground Safety Consultants Web?
    • Your staff will become more efficient in conducting inspections.
    • Over time, a potential for reduced injury and insurance claims.
    • The potential to reduced insurance premiums in an amount in excess of the annual PSC subscription fee.
    • Reduced repair costs as parts and service providers can be more efficient.
    • One database that will allow for global reports and information access.
    • Playgrounds that are routinely and consistently inspected and maintained.
  • What does PSC web cost?
    • There is a one-time enrollment fee of $12 per site.
    • The monthly subscription rate is $6 - $9 per month per site.
    • Fees are paid in advance and collection on a quarterly basis. A 5% discount is offered for an annual prepayment.
    • Payment can be made with a credit card.

  • If something is non-compliant what happens?
    • If a non-compliant condition is found, PSC will send e-mail notification to contacts that you provide (i.e. Manager, Director, Maintenance Department, Service Provider, etc.) listed in the user profile for the site. The notice will include a description of the finding and can include digital photos and related documents.
    • Until corrected, the site will be marked as having a non-compliant condition in the user?s database. This will trigger reminder e-mails to remedy the finding.
    • When a non-compliant finding is corrected, users return to an Action Form in PSC to document work performed and the cost.

  • How many contacts can we have in each site profile?
    • The system allows e-mail broadcasting to up to five contacts.

  • What if we need maintenance?
    • When you set up your account with PSC we will help link you with qualifed service providers and inturn link these providers to your site information and record keeping on the web.

  • What type of credentials do you have?
    • PSC principles have many years experience with playground safety and are Certified Playground Safety Inspectors as designated by the National Playground Safety Institute (NPSI) an organization sponsored by the National Park and Recreation Association (NRPA).

  • Why do our playgrounds need maintenance?
    • According to the NPSI approximately one-third of all accidents on public playgrounds could have been avoided if a good preventative maintenance program were in place. The old adage ?Pay now or pay (more) later? says it all. Ignoring routine, preventative maintenance will cause you to spend more on major repairs or replacement. Besides protecting the play equipment?s longevity maintenance will ensure safety and protect the manufacturer?s warranty.

  • Why should we use PSC for Annual Inspections?
    • Your staff should perform the high and low frequency inspections and maintenance. Using a third-party on an annual basis will ensure that the highly specialized aspects of playground inspection be done by trained, unbiased individuals.

  • How much does a PSC Inspection cost?
    • The cost is dependent on location, the size of the play structure and the estimated time to complete a comprehensive analysis. Typical costs are $300 - $500 per location with multiple composite structures, i.e., a 2-5 year structure, a 5-12 structure and swings and other freestanding components.

  • Can we save money by not performing maintenance on our playgrounds?
    • Maybe in the short-term, but costly repairs and replacement will be in the near future. Safety, compliance, warranty, and insurance costs will be compromised.

  • What is there is nothing wrong with out equipment?
    • GREAT! The goal is to keep it that way. This is the best time to start a routine, scheduled, preventative maintenance program.
